Why do people who have no religious beliefs want everything dealing with religion removed?

Every year at this time there will be a small city or town that will be forced to remove a Navity scene because 1 or 2 people find it offensive. Christmas trees are now being called "Holiday trees". Courthouses have to remove symbols and sayings that have been there for decades because 1or2 people find it upsetting. Isn't it time to let people believe in what they believe in? By insisting these artifacts be removed, you are pushing your non-beliefs on those of us who do believe. We then become the victims of religious persecution. This country was founded on religious freedom. Just because you have no beliefs,please don't try and push it down our throats that we who do believe are wrong or somehow evil.
