No hugs in school?

I grew up in the '60's and early '70's and don't remember any of my teachers hugging me. There were some that were fond of me but it was out of the question. I think I agree with a more disciplined approach. Teachers have to remain authority figures. You see kids that are starving for love and your heart goes out to them but the way you help them is by setting the kind of example that makes them want to grow up to be just like you.
