Doctor Who...I'm confused...?

I live in the U.S. and I watched it last night, and saw him get shot by that nasty little Dalek while he was running towards Rose. Does the tenth doctor die....I'm kind of confused. Will he look different (in other words be a different person), will he remember Rose Tyler, Donna Noble, Captain Jack, or any of his other old companies?
